WELCOME to MSAAC and thank you for representing your school and students. Below are several opportunities and resources for you and your school. Please inform your community using your school’s communication channels (e.g. newsletters, emails from principal, website, etc.).

1. September 21, 2016: First 2016/2017 MSAAC General Board meeting from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the LCPS Administration Building at 21000 Education Court in Ashburn, Virginia. General Board meetings are for MSAAC Delegates and Alternates and LCPS parents and staff. LCPS students are also welcome.

2. October 26, 2016: All MSAAC Delegates and Alternates are invited to an informational meeting on October 26, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the LCPS Administration building at 21000 Education Court in Ashburn, Virginia. RSVP by October 10 with an "accept" or "decline" to msaacmembership@gmail.com. The meeting will cover expectations, resources, communications and more. The General Membership meeting will follow from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

4. MSAAC Executive Board has 2 open positions (Secretary and Communications Chairperson) that need to be filled quickly. Please contact me if you are interested. We welcome co-leads and members who would like to be a part of the Communications committee.

5. Upcoming Community Events:

a. I. C. E. Conference on September 24th from 9AM - 4PM at Park View High School. The (I.C.E) Inspire-Connect-Educate Conference theme this year is “Training Day”. The goal is to prepare students grades 5-12 for higher institutions of learning and specific life skills that they will need to be successful in our global society. The conference is free if you register in advance and attendees receive a free lunch. b. The Gifted Department is holding several Gifted Information Night sessions throughout the month of September. Parents/guardians who are interested in learning about the gifted eligibility process and who are considering referring their child for gifted services are encouraged to attend. c. 2016 LCPS College Fair will be on September 25th at Briar Woods High School from 2:00PM – 5:00PM. Nearly 200 colleges, universities and military representatives will be present.

d. Parents as Educational Partners (PEP) Fair will be on September 26th from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Cedar Lane Elementary School. For more information, go to www.loudoun.k12.va.us/page/359

6. Help Needed: Volunteer to represent MSAAC at the first Parents as Educational Partners (PEP) Event of the school year. The fair will be on September 26th from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Cedar Lane Elementary School. If you are interested, please send an email tomsaacvicechair@gmail.com

7. List of MSAAC Delegates for each Loudoun County school will be posted on the MSAAC Website before the September 21 meeting. The list will include the name and email address of the delegates so LCPS families have a single point of contact for MSAAC.
